Ms. Marilyn Aniwa

Ms. Marilyn Aniwa is a Population and Development Specialist with close to 25 years development experience. Ms Aniwa holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Population and Development; a Master of Arts degree in Population Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Archaeology and History.  

Ms. Aniwa previously worked as Executive Director of the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS).  Prior to joining the Union, she worked with the Parliamentary Centre of Canada as In-Country Coordinator, with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) as Development Officer, the British Council as Assistant Director, and a Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.  
Ms. Aniwa is an experienced manager with several years’ experience in project management and development. Her area of expertise is in Demographic Analysis and Research, Governance, Gender Training and Advocacy, Policy Analysis, Monitoring & Evaluation.

At the professional level, Marilyn Aniwa has been instrumental in leading the management of a variety of projects funded by international organizations. This leadership enabled Marilyn to design, along with other Ghanaian professionals, an innovative programme of capacity building for Members of Ghana’s Parliament as well as various Parliaments across the continent, building capacities of Members of Parliament in countries such as Ethiopia, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Sudan, as well as the Pan African Parliament.
