Jessica Acheampong
Senior Communications Manager
Ms. Jessica Acheampong is a seasoned media professional with over a decade of experience spanning Journalism and Public Relations. She spent nine (9) years with Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) as a Business Journalist, where she was responsible for gathering, analysing, and reporting on business and financial news for the company’s flagship publications, the Daily Graphic and Graphic Business. Her reporting focused largely on the extractive sector, particularly petroleum governance, earning her several media recognition awards for insightful coverage of critical industry issues.
Ms. Acheampong is currently the Senior Communications Manager at the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), a statutory body mandated to provide oversight of Ghana’s petroleum revenues. In this role, she coordinates all communications and information management functions of the Secretariat. Her key areas of focus include media relations, digital communications (website and social media management), and public education on the management and utilisation of petroleum revenues.
Through her role, she demonstrates a strong commitment to innovation, inclusive communication, citizen empowerment, and promoting transparency and accountability in the management and use of petroleum revenues in Ghana, through tailored initiatives.
She champions people-centered innovations that expanded the reach, relevance, and impact of PIAC’s communication in the petroleum revenue management space.
She holds a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), a Certificate in Petroleum, Oil and Gas Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), and a Diploma in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). She has also participated in several specialised training programmes organised by key stakeholders in the petroleum sector. Ms. Acheampong is currently a Level Three candidate in the Accreditation Programme of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana.
